Fig : Time Management and Work

Everyone of us has deadlines for completing the work, irrespective to what kind of job we are indulged in. If you are unable to complete your work within the working hours of office, there is a problem. Either your work is too much or you are finding it difficult to manage it.Time management is an essential thing to finish your work before the deadline is breached. You might be frequently interrupted or pulled in different directions. While you cannot eliminate interruptions, you do get a say on how much time you will spend on them and how much time you will spend on the thoughts, conversations, and actions that will lead you to success. Below I have mentioned few tips to get you started.

Clear Your Schedule

Before you start working, it is important to schedule your work. To have a complete view of what work you need to finish today, making a single list of all your tasks will be helpful. This list can be hand-written, sticky notes on your desk, or can be made on your mobile app. Separate your work and start completing it before the deadline which will be set by you. Your entire day needs to be focused on killing that list. You might find it bit difficult in the start but as you start practicing it daily, you will be able to manage your work and time soon.

Complete The Most Vital Task Before Lunch

Trust me, there is no better feeling than completing your most crucial task before lunch. How to do it? Let me help you with that. Firstly, pick up one of your big tasks and try to accomplish it first in the morning. If you are done with the crucial work in the morning, nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day. You will be less worried and able to concentrate better on your other small or medium task.

Lock Yourself

A few hours of being focused can help you to accomplish your work which can take several days of multi-tasking. Find an empty room or cabin where there would be no distraction. Dedicate yourself entirely to one particular work and keep other less important things aside. Get out of that room only after the task is marked as done.

Be Flexible In Taking Your Rest Breaks

Taking breaks from your work is also necessary, working continuously for hours makes you tired, if not physically then mentally for sure. As I said, taking the short break is important but you need to adjust your break sometimes. If your work is still undone and your break time has started, make sure you finish that work before going for a break. Take short but meaningful breaks, that’s what I need to convey. I am saying this so you won’t be tempted to procrastinate your work.

Focus on your most productive time of day

Life would be so boring if we all were same. Each and everyone is different from each other, whether it may be working style, the way of communicating or in terms of managing work. Some people work better in the morning, and some are more focused in the evening. Some people like working late at night in dead silence while few likes to work in a very high energy environment. Try to find out what time you are able to do your work more effectively. As you get it, use that time for completing your hardest task.

Know the end

The work which you do daily is arranged in order to accomplish the ultimate goal of your company. Every task you are doing or involved in should have a clear goal or purpose beyond just getting it done. If you aren’t clear about the final goal then spending your entire day just killing the task will help you to gain nothing. However, a company should share the ultimate goals with their employees. The company where I am working, Aasaanjobs makes sure that their every employee is aware of the company goal. Induction programs should be organized quarterly to tell everyone where the company stands now and where should it stand in future.

Hope these tips may help you schedule your work and manage time, So that you can finish your work in time.

Cheers!!
